台北市警局分析資料發現，有詐騙集團在社群網站，投放裸露、挑逗等色情廣告作為導流，鎖定民眾好奇心與私密心理，將既有「假交友」手法包裝升級。市警局表示，由過去常見的「購買遊戲點數換見面」，轉為架設仿真交友會員網站，主打「智慧媒合、快速配對」等話術，誘導民眾「加入會員、儲值升等」，聲稱「可退回」以降低被害人戒心。去年12月相關案件共受理了35件、財損達新台幣2415萬8698元。
市警局表示，進一步分析被害人年齡分布，40至49歲共11件（31.4%）較多，其次為30至39歲共8件（22.9%），顯示主要受害族群集中於30至49歲青壯年及中年族群；其中單一財損最高金額為新台幣952萬1500元，顯示詐團透過「會員制平臺」話術，短時間內即可造成重大財損。
市警局也公布去年12月打詐成效，當月份台北市查獲詐欺集團119團1054人，查扣不法所得7274萬餘元；另在警銀聯防與第一線即時關懷下，成功攔阻詐騙金額達新台幣2億1884萬餘元。
台北市刑事警察大隊大隊長丁靖表示，依「打詐儀錶板」統計，台北市去年12月受理詐欺案1524件，財損共新台幣8億5905萬餘元，整體趨勢呈收斂。詐騙手法仍以「假投資」造成財損最高，詐團常潛伏於社群網站、交友軟體或通訊平臺，投放大量廣告，誘騙民眾加入所謂「投資群組」，再以長期關懷、噓寒問暖建立信任，並透過偽造獲利截圖、成員配合演出等方式，營造「穩賺不賠」假象，誘使民眾持續投入資金。
警方表示，至於色情詐騙，民眾一旦被裸露圖片吸引點擊，後續多轉由通訊軟體一對一接觸，再引導進入所謂交友平臺，要求被害人「登記會員並儲值」。常見說法包括「儲值可提高會員等級以利配對」、「儲值後可退回」、「完成帳號開通即可安排見面／約會服務」等，進一步催促匯款。詐團甚至會在初期以小額「加計收益後返還」製造可信假象，誘使被害人持續加碼儲值；等被害人要求退款或發現無法取回款項時，才驚覺受騙。
市警局長林炎田表示，打擊詐欺犯罪為警方重點工作，將持續強化宣導、防制、打擊等3項作為：更新識詐宣導重點、深化機關與業者協作阻斷金流、強力追緝涉案集團，全面壓制詐團犯罪空間，讓詐欺集團「騙不了、領不到、跑不掉」。
